I'm incredibly excited about A War of Gifts especially because it's the first in a while where we get to revisit the young Ender Wiggin. My question is: will this story be a full fledged novel or a short story? I had thought a while ago it was hinted this would be a short story, but on the home page it seems it will be sold as a stand-alone, and it's unlikely one short story will be sold instead of several of them collected in one book like First Meetings.

It's going to be one of those little "gift books" that are smaller than normal sized books that they sell around the holidays.

Yeah...yeah me neither.
I'm confused about the book. I barely know what it's about. I've only read the first Ender book and 2 Bean books. So when does war of gifts take place?

Oh and if the description is a spoiler, add a spoiler alert. Please

thanks

It takes place sometime in Ender's early Battle School years. Apparently Dink Meeker sets off a Christmas rebellion. At least that's what I know from the descriptions I've found.

Strange...I don't like that idea, unless it's a small book like docmagik said.

It's longer than a short story, shorter than a novel.. I'm assuming it's more along the size of one of those ol' Goosebump books. y'know?

Just took a look at it and it seems good. 128 pages long so it is pretty short.

Monster Blood was alright, but Piano Lessons Can Be Murder and The Haunted Mask were the best.

Sounds like it's a "novella", like those Steinbeck ones I've had to read in school.
