Maybe the trick is to keep adding new smilies so that the old ones get used less, then you can remove the obsolete smilies, and by the time anyone notices there are fewer smilies, it will be too late, muwahahahaha! Posts: 2332 | Registered: Jul 2003

I see that this smilie is entitled group hug. But doesn't it look like it's a group huddle? Those smilies are ploting something I tell you!

Yes. The pink one is going to go down long on the left side with the rest of the receivers, but what they're REALLY doing is have the quarterback run the ball.

Yeah, give us an inch and we demand a mile.
I definitely prefer unanimated or subtly-animated emoticons.
But barring the addition of  ...I'll just have to use to represent my purity and wholesome goodness. It's accurate enough. Posts: 10886 | Registered: Feb 2000

This is clearly a take-a-bow kind of thing. It's like in The Little Prince. The little prince claps his hands, and the conceited man takes off his hat. Obviously.

I am convinced that is a *hats off* smilie. But only the mods can settle this. Kristine? And if you do read this, I'm really sorry I posted the tour cities before they were finalizied!

Please respect her wishes - no more emoticons. Posts: 7600 | Registered: Jan 2001

Speaking of little girls in sundresses, I had a really good sundress when I was little. It was bright yellow, with large vivid orange spots and I wish I had it in a bigger size.

"-Kittens" Yup, hate the little f***s. They tear up my furniture and crap on the floor.
"-Little girls in sundresses" They really stink. I mean, put some pants on those little creeps!
"-Newborn puppies with their eyes just opened" Sorry, I love puppies, can't even pretend not to.
"-Jigglypuff"- he's OK. Makes for a good frisbee.
"-Balloons and stuffed animals for the sick" Oh my goodness, if I were sick, and someone gave me those things, I would scream inside my head for the rest of the day. Smuggle me in some rum or begone.
"-Shirley temple delivering balloons and stuffed animals to the sick while holding a newborn puppy with it's eyes just opened" The b**** wouldn't make it two steps inside my hospital room door!
All emoticons can kiss my behind. And believe me, it will take them forever. (no offense, Mr. and Mrs. Card)

I like 'em. I think they're fab, especially which I haven't gotten to use much yet.
I only dislike one of them, this:
not sure why.
Overall, I like the positivity. For communication purposes I think the following would be useful:
"beating a dead horse" (tough) "one upsmanship" (racking of logic points or something. pinball machine?) "insider joke" (alternatively, an icon for "code" or "nudge-nudge")
