I am a bookmark pack-rat. I haphazardly bookmark sites I surf through because "someday I might need it." I just exported my Netscape bookmarks to a floppy because I have no other backup method to my HD. The size of the file was 383 KB. Who can top that? The gauntlet has been thrown.

Mine is 564 KB on just this machine -- that is my problem -- I have five different machines and my bookmarks (favorites) end up on whichever machine I happen to be using to surf at the time....

Is there really that much variation between dictionaries? I'm guessing you have about five on your shelf as well.
I have all mine organized into neat little categories. I have eight forums, two email pages, six school-related pages, 18 news sites, five government related things, and fifteen miscellaneous links that consist of fun stuff, friend's pages, and anything that fits no where else.

5 machines? Good lord farmgirl, switch to crack, it's cheaper. I knew someone would trump me quick.

An ebay auction that I'm going to snipe, some sites related to the auction, some Bittorrent sites for when I'm finally able to download from them, some Escaflowne fansites.

There isn't much difference between Dictionary.com and Merriam-Webster. The Oxford English Dictionary gives date charts, phonetic pronunciation, and full etyomologies. You might be surprised to learn that I have only two dictionaries on my bookshelf (Merriam-Webster's Collegiate and American Heritage [which is the primary source of Dictionary.com's entries]).

The ones I use most aren't bookmarked. They're quick-launch buttons:

Hatrack forums
Pweb main
Pweb forums
Eric Snider forums
GreNME forums
Jatraqueros
Nauvoo forums
Ornery forums
BabyCenter forums
Hatrack parachat
CA lottery results
Homestarrunner
Monster job search
Hatrack BFFaAC forum (direct link for Mama)
Foobonic
Atkins
RhinoTimes

Too many in my bookmark list to include here, but I don't use them very often. They're just so I never forget where some of them are (like the Matrix ping-pong and the Honda commercial, for example).

Aside from all the jokes one might make about having a huge Quick Launch bar, not to mention how it might get the name "Quick Launch," it's a 19" monitor, and I use the 1024x768 setting. I'd use even higher resolution, but for Mama Squirrel's eyes.
Work was worse. I used the 1200x1600 setting on a 19" monitor, and had 57 buttons on the quick-launch bar. This computer has only 36. When new e-mail comes in or when I'm listening to music, they don't all fit.

I have several HUNDRED bookmarks, and my bookmarks folder is still smaller than 6KB. So those of you who have over 500KB in bookmarks are really frightening.

A page with a list of programs to slow my computer down so I can play old DOS games
OSC's articles on mp3s
I usually only bookmark things that I'll forget easily, which is why I don't have hatrack and such bookmarked.

Book, are you in our Fantasy Football league?
I very rarely use favorites at home. I guess with my work being so keyboard oriented, it's faster for me to leave my hands on the keyboard and type the addresses in for the few sites I visit in a day from home. At work, I keep a few that are hard to remember (if I had to drill down on a page to find it), otherwise I still just type it all in. I probably have every major and most minor computer product manufacturer's sites memorized.
