There are a few of you who know of my existence. Fewer still who actually know my real name. And exactly zero that know what I look like. So, to help you all out on the second point, I am Austin, and I am 16, going to be 17 on Derby Day. My very post takes care of the first one, and I sadly have no pictures online.
I have been lurking around here for the past six months, and for about one month of that, I have been very active in the AIM hatrack chat. And all those pesky people have convienced me to post, so here you are. You all happy now?

The Kentucky Derby. It happens every year in Louisville Ky, at Churchill Downs on the first saturday in May. It is ont of the three horse races in the Triple Crown. It is a very big day here. My track team is goign to be working the barricades to let the famous in.

<ramble> our birthday is the first Saturday in May? First thought: How'd you manage to have a birthday on a different date every year and second: (looking at the calendar), that the first Saturday of May is May 1st.
So you're always going to be seventeen (or whatever age) on May Day. Just might be easier to say. </ramble>
One day I am actually going to make the leap into chat.... Welcome!

Well, where I am from, Derby is shightly more important than May Day, so when my birthday happens to fall on that day, I use that. But when it is not derby or the Oaks (the day before the derby, also considered a holiday here) I use May Day.

It is a bit odd to think of Oaks day and the phrase "Sober Till Noon", I worked in a booth selling T-shirts and stuff at Churchil Downs on Oaks day one year, and there were plenty of people who were drinking pretty heavily at 7:00am. For some reason, when it is in a Mint Julep, some people will drink wiskey with their breakfast.
