I mean, c'mon. It's BFFAC, so why won't we either talk about international happenings that has nothing to do with the US in this forum or have a new forum called "Non-US Culture" (or something like that)? Like for example, a man in Mexico gets charged for profanity use, seriously! (go to google news and type 'mexico man foul language' for an article.)

Um... is there a reason why you don't like the way it is right now?

Thanks for letting me know what I should find engaging in the world. Profanity on the streets of Mexico! *gasp* whatever should I do?

Really Tom?

[ROFL]

I'll take that as a compliment to my ability to copy writing style. Thank you.

What do you have to say about that want2write? should we give 'em something to talk about? A little something to think about?

Troubs, that's the funniest site! I read the whole correspondence of one of them. [ROFL] All the HG2G references are hilarious. The tragic death of Mr. Dent is just terrible! Terrible! The newspaper clipping about the event breaks me up! Poor Mr. Prosser must be so traumatized!

ak - I know! I got fairly OCD about the whole scambaiting thing a little while back, some funny stuff in the forums. The best of them is one where he poses as essentially the Vicar of Dibley and has these idiots trying to setup an export business for indigenous Hares. [ROFL]

Sorry to feed the troll, but I think I've got this w2w person figured out.

She never participates in others' threads, only starts her own, and rarely returns to respond in her own threads.

I suspect she's not a native English-speaker and expends a great deal of effort composing her thread-starters in English.

She only writes about serious stuff. So I suspect that it's the serious stuff that motivates her to attempt interacting in English.

I think this thread about an issue in Mexico is a fair start, and I think w2w would do well as a Jatraquera if she took on the task of educating us about issues in her home country.

Think about what we've learned about Poland and other countries from fellow Hatrackers.

It's not a start. It's a continuation. This is the 31st barely intelligible topic want2write has posted without even one post in a thread he/she hasn't started.

Very few of his/her topics are about international subjects. It's pretty obvious from want2write's posts that he/she is American.
quote:
I hear some or more complaints of the US rating system.
quote:
If i were at least 18 and registered as a voter, I would vote for Kerry.
quote:
Either I'm about to lose faith on America, or I don't live happily in here.
I think want2write said in this one that he/she lives in America.
quote:
Hero (starring Jet Li) -- shh! I rented it somewhere in Chinese streets in USA, so no need to speak or write about it.

quote:
haven't own anything that is [u]only[/u] released outside USA.
So, I really think this person is from the US. And I think that he/she is probably laughing at all the people trying to comprehend his/her posts.

Didn't he/she once mention he/she was Native American? I am not going to re-read all the posts, but that is vaguely in my memory.

Maybe w2w is born in America but has learnt another language than English as first language. Possible?

I just re-read all of w2w's posts. From what I can gather, he/she is 16 and takes everything his/her history teacher says as gosple truth. Cant find any reference to being a Native American.

I hope I didn't dream that up. Am I going crazy or does anyone elese remember w2w mentioning Native Americanism?

Tom Davidson said he didn't believe it. Maybe that post was then deleted. But I also read that. The grammatical problems in w2w's posts don't seem consistent with Native American. I recall it was on the Discussions about OSC side.

Oh, maybe he just edited the post. But then me and Tom's posts should be somewhere.

w2w is fairly new and has posted 47 times (As of me writing this), so I assume he/she started a thread and has since deleted it. Maybe it was the thread that mentioned American Indian.

Hey w2w, can you come back and talk to us here? We need to establish dialog if people think I am you. We could have such fun.

Maybe I am you. At which point I am talking to myself. But I am not. But it does remind me of my first journal.

I was a weee kid and just learned in Primary (Mormon Sunday School for little kids) the importance of journal writing. I also learned that everything we say is recorded in heaven.

I decided to (and kept it up for quite some time) to keep a journal by talking to myself in the future. I would usually start with "Hi ___, you have now died and been resurrected and get to see this recording, but I want to tell myself in the future what I am doing now." Eventually I realized that if everything is recorded, I would have no need to speak to myself, and decided to write a paper journal. I should really restart journal writing—it is fun to look back on.
