I was just trying to test my memory, and I can't remember what I ate exactly one week ago. Does anybody remember what they consumed last week?

If I really thought about it, I could probably piece together a reasonable list with some effort. But I'd have to think back to significant things I did last week and think where/what I ate from that. And I could fill in the blanks from a relatively limited list of "usuals" I have for lunch or dinner. But there would be very few certainties I could pin down to date/time.

Last week I had to keep receipts of everything so I could repaid for it. I could tell you EXACTLY what I had.

The parts I remember: incredible spinach salad at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in North Beach, Giradelli mint patties, and dim sum - $3.00 for a full plate. Yum!

One week ago today I had spicy shrimp and crab cake appetizers, prime rib, rosemary bread, garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed zucchini, and cheesecake.

But the only reason I know that is that Bob and I hosted a dinner party.

I can't remember what I ate last week, but I do know that I've eaten fettucini alfredo for the past four days in a row.

Yes. I can remember easily, because last week was my bologna sandwich & cream-of-tomato soup rage. That's all I ate. All week, every day, every meal. I can remember only a couple exceptions, where I had toast with cream cheese or peanut butter instead. But mostly, bologna sandwiches and tomato soup. Delicious stuff.

I remember this much: It was the worst food in the world. All Navy food is and it should not be consumed by humans.

My friend, I'm afraid we must be enemies.

No doubt. But it's the principle that matters.

Goat, how do you feel about a driver that works at a local chain, but buys his family Domino's on the weekend, despite the fact that he gets half off from the joint he works for? Friends, or enemies?

Neutral. I'm only enemies with workers at other large chains.

Well, actually, I'm enemies with a lot of people (New Englanders, fans of most country music, T-Mobile customers, Martha Stewart, tree make-outers, etc), workers at Papa Johns and Pizza Hut are my only pizza-related enemies.

And you can eat whatever you want. I, myself, order Papa Johns and Pizza Hut almost as much as I order Domino's.
