I think that's what's happening. Florida is just going to become submerged when this thing is done.

the wind is not all that bad, about 33 miles an hour (though the gusts are higher than that) in gainesville...though it was enough to cut power off to my apartment. The rain is nuts though.
Though I was able to eat dinner at a chinese place that cooked all their food on a gas grill.
The good thing about being a grad student is I have access to my building on campus. I guess driving to school in a hurricane was not all that bright, but I did not feel like sitting in the dark
