No, I'm not planning on eliminating them myself. I just want to know what procedures professional ant people would generally follow, and I'm not having much luck finding it.
They generally try to find the nest, right? And is just spraying a room where ants are found considered an effective procedure for ant elimination?
(I'm getting really fed up with ants in my dorm room, so I need this information before I go make a fuss)

Dude, Anna, just put on your suit and GO MAKE A FUSS. Let them figure out how to get rid of the little suckers.
Probably though, they will set out some ant poison, try to determine where they are living, and spray. A fogger would probably work too, but since you're living there....ok, it wouldn't work at all. I'd be sure to tell them about your asthma though, so they don't go spraying messy crap all over your room.

The spray people that come to my apartment spray around all the edges of each room in the apartment. Not sure what they do outside...though the spray service my parents get (outside only) sprays the entire yard. Though, I would guess they would also focus on any nests they see.
