What about a mass of tissue that draws nutrition from slightly modifies sweat glands and gradually learns to speak, walk, and tell you that it's too tired to help out around the house?

The rather obvious angle I haven't seen mentioned yet is: How could this be used to help burn victims? It could be a whole new apprach to skin grafts, a useful and realistic possible application. If they use genetic material from the victim, then the risk for rejection should be limited if not non-existent.
