Well, his recorded voice anyway. I've gotten “Hello, this is senator X” recorded calls every day this week, three yesterday, and it looks like it’s starting again today.
I think I might stop answering the phone until the election is over.
Does everybody get this many, or am I just on a bunch of lists somewhere?

Well, we screen our calls at night, so it's possible they disconnect, but I think it's more likely that we're not getting many.
We're not in a "swing state."
I suspect those aggressive phone efforts are reserved for a relatively small number of states where the vote could go either way in the presidential election.

I got one from Jim Holt last week. A survey thing. Prolly didn't make any friends when I answered No to the question on whether he could count on my support and vote for him....

You are aware of the fact that they log any numbers that disconnect the message before it's done aren't you?

I did get to be in a real poll this election season – they asked who I would vote for if the election were held tomorrow (for a list of national and state offices) and what I thought the most important issue was out of a few different groups of four. They did not ask if it would change my opinion of candidate ‘x’ if it was discovered that he wore women’s underwear while clubbing baby seals in company with Sadaam Hussein’s second cousin. (I’ve gotten a few of those types of “polls” too.)

I have gotten a couple, but my parents have gotten tons.
My mother is a bit worried. She's heard from so many swift-boat veterans, on both sides of the political spectrum, she figures those little boats were so waited down with soldiers, they couldn't have been too darn swift.
