Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee. Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee.
Together they would travel on boat with billowed sail Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name, oh
Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee. Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee.
A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys Painted wings and giants's rings make way for other toys. One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.
His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane. Without his lifelong friend, Puff could not be brave So, Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave, oh
Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee. Puff, the magic dragon, lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee.
I think I had a Puff doll. But I was so young, I can't remember if it was the real thing, or just a knock-off that my parents lied to me about. It was a pale green color and you put baby powder in it, and squeezed its belly and it would shoot out some powder. Tell me, did they make such things? And were they real "Puff the magic dragons"? I hope so, otherwise my childhood will be ruined!

I have a stuffed Puff that we got at a Peter Paul & Mary concert this past summer. No baby powder tummies, though. He's soooooooo cute!

Puff was always one of my favorite songs. Still is! I sang it in a cabaret in January, and brought my little sister up for a duet in the second verse. I made my best friend cry. I loooove that song!!
I also had the movie when I was little, I would watch it several times a day.

Black Unicorns? There was a book about one, but I can't remember if it was evil...
Also, a lot of books don't say they are good, but rather some sort of primordial magical beings to whom good and evil don't apply. They would kill anyone other than a virgin, remember?

There is the book The Black Unicorn by Terry Brooks, but IIRC, it's just an uber-special unicorn, not an evil one.
There's also a black unicorn in the anime The 13 Kingdoms (Juni Koki?), but he pretty much just looks different.
I've never heard that they won't kill virgins, but I've heard that they'll only let virgins ride them.

Actually, I haven't heard of any stories involving actively evil unicorns.
People have a habit of looking for good elements in even the worst characters, but they tend to have a blind spot for assigning negative aspects to traditionally good characters.

The unicorn's evil sidekick should be a BUNNY!

Well, that's always an option, but lecturing people about their moral inferiority and the resulting guilty spiral can often lead the victim to do the dirty deed themselves. It's a great power that the vegan paragons of virtue wield.

There's a book called The Black Unicorn by an author named... Uhhh... Tanith Lee. I liked it. The second and third were good too. I don't have it anymore, but I still have the other two. I want another copy of that book.

I like the idea of a rainbow that steals your SOUL. Like you go to the end to find gold and you are SUCKED DRY...

Both. I'm gonna mush all the ideas together into one super-proposal. After all, if one Hatracker is good, two must be better, neh?

There's a short story by an Australian writer Nick Earls in which an unicorn gores a woman with his horn. Intentionally.
I don't know if you could describe the story as featuring an evil unicorn though - it's a fairly surreal piece of fiction where the unicorn flatmates with the narrator and the gored girl.
There is a faint memory stirring in my mind though of an evil unicorn story... can't pin it down for the life of me though. Hmmm, will think some more.
(Dagonee - Tony and I are re-working our way through Buffy season 2 at the moment. Re-watching after having seen seasons 6 and 7 makes us realise again how truly clever Joss Weddon is. )

Nope. 'Cause while I've met Tom in person on multiple occasions, I've never even seen a picture of you.

(Edit: to Dagonee) Oh yes, that was the Nick Earls one.
But I am sure I have read another story (by another author) with an evil unicorn. I think it raped a girl. But I can't remember the title, author, specific plot or even if it really existed.
(And I am loath to plug that particular combination of words into google. Especially given I am at work)
