Did you know he resigned from Square/Enix? True. He's now a freelancer.

<--- Big Uematsu fan.

Now if only Yasunori Mitsuda would come as well...

Yeah, I had heard that he left Squeenix. I was rather upset at the news. His music was the reason I fell in love with the Final Fantasy games in the first place. We put in Final Fantasy X, and "To Zanarkand" came on, and it was so, so heartbreakingly beautiful. It haunted me so much I went home that night and found a .midi and the sheet music so I could listen to it over and over. And oh, the first time I saw Liberi Fatali... so blown away. We used to start a new game of FFVIII just so we could watch that scene. Still one of my favorite pieces. So yeah, I was upset at the news, because Uematsu is so tied to the Final Fantasy franchise in my mind that I couldn't fanthom it without him. But I'm okay with it now. I mean, it's not like he's going to stop composing. And who knows--maybe I will find my next favorite game because he composes the music for it. [Smile]

Theca has reminded me that the concert is the same day as dkw's henna party. [Frown] I am so very torn right now. Because dkw is one of my favorite people on the board, and I was really looking forward to going to the henna party. But oh, the concert! I'm not kidding when I say that I listened to his music constantly for a year. It was practically the only thing I did listen to. The press release says that the Chicagoland concert is the kick-off of the U.S. tour, so I'm trying to find out what the other venues will be to see if maybe I can go to one of those instead. I hate the thought of having to give up one or the other, because they're both very important to me. [Frown]
