I'm very happy. We'll have three boys and three girls in our family-- a nice balance between estrogen and testosterone.
Super-K is VERY happy about this development. The girls, not so much. Junebug sincerely wanted another sister; Litebrite just wants a baby.
I've got an inkling that I may want to call him EvenStevens; I don't know yet, and probably won't know until July. . .

You know how if they think it's a boy they are supposedly guarunteed to be right? We knew a couple that supposedly was having a boy. So they got all the baby boy stuff ready for their new arrival. Nope. A girl. Dunno what the medic saw there, but it wasn't *that*.
In church the bishop announced the birth to the ward and asked them to please not snicker when they saw the little girl dressed in boy clothes.

I once knew someone whose male neighbor was named Claire, for that reason. I think it was already on the birth certificate, or something. I don't know. Poor guy.

If you name your child "Logain" and pronounce it "Logan" he will put up with having it mispronounced for the rest of his life. And people will probably beat him up.
You can safely name him "Logan," although then people will think you're a comics geek.

According to the Baby Name Wizard, Logan has become a wildly popular boys name, kind of like Jason in the 70s and 80s.

Interesting, though: "Logan" wasn't a "girl's" name, or at least not a popular one, until the 80's.

My little infamous sister (the one I end up constantly telling stories about when it's the older one who deserves being talked about) wants a baby. She has tons of dollies, all her "baby sisters and brothers". She is obsessed with babies. It must be a common affliction.
Of course, my parents are not going to have another child and it just makes my sister angry.
But congratulations on (potentially) getting a 2-2 family... it's like Swallows and Amazons, or the Famous Five, or any number of children's books from that era .

Good call! That's definitely one way to deal with unsatiable-baby-hunger. Kitties! Puppies! Furry baby things!

The problem with the Cat thing in my family is that we have a Cat and she's an absolute terror (attack-Cat) when teased/tormented/touched, something my infamous little sister is rather good at.
Their relationship is not a healthy one. .

augh!!!!! the Logan/Jason comments have got me thinking of a clip from Hercules (the disney version) but I can't think of the line well enough to be able to quote it! Now I'm going to have to subject myself to that goofy movie tonight!

So, at 3 am on Sunday night, Mrs. R wakes up and informs me (this is the simplified, non-grody version of events) that it is time to go to the hospital.
And we barely made it.
Inkling was born on Father's day 2005 at 0428.
He's having some respiratory problems right now-- he was born with fluid in his lungs that he wasn't able to cough out, so he's in the NICU until his body reabsorbs the fluid. We think that he'll probably have to stay there until Wednesday or so.
Mrs. R is a little sore-- but she is marvelous.
I'll throw some pictures of the little guy up on my yahoo site later this evening.

>>I'm sorry he's having trouble, poor little guy, but I know he'll be all right.
It's one of the worst things I've ever felt-- seeing him hooked up to a CPAP machine, and grunting for breath. But we asked questions, and more questions, and more questions, and finally we are able to balance our fears with confidence in his caretakers.
