We went to the bank yesterday, to cash the last of the "Christmas money" from family, and my son (7)wanted to go to the toy aisle to get the last of the Mega Blok dragon eggs for his collection ( the bank is located inside the Fred Meyer). He got his egg which cost about $8 and when we asked what he would do with the rest (he had $44 total) he said, "I'm giving it to Lutheran World Relief to get clean water for the tsunami victims".
Wow. How did I raise such an awesome kid? (tearing up again thinking about my boy).

I have tried to talk to my kids about this whole thing, but they are so young. It mostly goes over their heads.

bev, it is totally over my 5 year old's head too ( your oldest is 5, right?) I think between 6-7 is when a lot of kids start "getting" this kind of thing.
