WAHOO!!! We now have power, after four days without the electricity, heat, or water. We've been staying at my aunt's (who lives in Mt. Hope 7 miles from our house) and only coming back to the farm to take care of the animals. It was COLD here, let me tell you. On Wednesday a thermometer on the DINING ROOM TABLE read below 0 degrees Celsius, or below freezing. Brrr...you could see our breath IN THE HOUSE. So we were/are living with my aunt at the present time, who can't get internet because her satellite is frozen over. We returned this morning to take care of the animals and had the pleasant surprise of heat and electricity in our house. Tuesday my school actually had school...up until 11 when they let kids go because if they go til 11 it counts as a full day and the weather was getting really bad. Thankfully, I didn't go that day. Or Wednesday. Or Thursday. Or now Friday! I got the full week off. It's so great, I was sure my school would make us go today, but they aren't. YES!!! The storm was really bad out here. Of our four big trees in the front, they're all half gone because of the limbs snapping, and our grove is now full of lighting rods because the limbs have been stripped off the trees. Sorry, I have to get off in a hurry, gotta finish the chores and do our neighbors (an elderly couple still without power who got moved to the nursing home in town temporarily until their power/heat is back on) chores too. The lady LOVES cats and has more than we do. O_O So we gotta go take care of them. Just wanted to let y'all know we now have power, heat, and water, but will probably still stay at my aunt's for awhile.
