I just watched the trailer for A Scanner Darkly, and it looks incredible. Perhaps Philip K. Dick's greatest book, and they made a movie. I've started a couple threads about this, but they didn't seem to get much interest, beyond the usual suspects. Perhaps this trailer will pique some interest. Any doubts I had about the animation are gone. It looks great.
I also recently read that Charlie Kaufman had written a script for A Scanner Darkly. Wow! Could you imagine what that would have been like? In any case, Linklater took up the project, and I guess he decided to write his own script. I don't mind, because Linklater is also a fantastic writer and director.

Wow! I like that! This book's not my favorite Ph.K.Dick novel, but it's a darn good one, and the trailer looks awesome.

That's quite the lack of interest. I figure this deserves at least one bump, then I'll let it die.

Dude, it was worth closing the Army ad and sitting through the Bacardi and coke commercial. I'm excited.

Thanks for the bump, otherwise I would've missed it.
I read part of Charlie Kaufman's script a while back. And while I love Linklater and everything he does, could you just imagine Charlie Kaufman's Scanner Darkly being brought to life? I think a Linklater/Kaufman pairing would've been amazing.
As a side note, I've also always wanted to see Kaufman and Fincher work together on something.

Fincher's direction in movies like Seven and Fight Club would fit perfectly with a Charlie Kaufman script, I think. I haven't had time to read Kaufman's script for Scanner yet, but it's on my list of things to do.

Apparently the release date has been delayed, and it won't be coming out until March of 2006. Linkage. I'm pretty disappointed, but hopefully it's for a good reason.

Thanks for the link! Looked more like storyboard than clips, but the sound was okay. Looks like they'll be pretty faithful (I've already read the script).
Hmmm.... I wonder how long it will be before we have a Fred alt posting here?
