I just resently (today) found out that my dad decided that i would help do the DJ-ing for a semi-pro soccer game, and i was hoping that some of you could help me out. I was hoping that some of you could post some song names that would be good for a soccer game, things insperational and that kind of thing (only things i have are: we will rock you[lol] , and songs that have to do with the sun[the name of the team is Sol]) any help would be greatly appreciated [Smile]

*Sneaks in*

Another One Bites the Dust - Queen

No don't, but I can look to see if I can come up with anything. Really depends on the type of music you are looking for.

I know if I were at that soccer game there would be only one song I'd want to hear:

Duke of Earl; Gene Chandler

[Big Grin]

That's the best song ever, you know.

Oooh, I just thought of some more:

Dancing Queen; ABBA

We are the champions; Queen

I believe in a thing called love; The Darkness [Wink]

I have flawless tastes in music, no?

BUM! BUM bum BUM! BUM bum BUM BUMBUMBUMMM...

::sings "Eye of the Tiger" horribly::

Yeah, I'd say that'd be a good one to play.

Thinking of football games, crowd pleasers are often "Shout!" (The Isley Brothers), "Louie, Louie" (originally by the Pharaohs), and "Hey Baby," to name a few. Eminem goes over well with drunk college kids, but I'm not entirely sure of your target audience...

And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night, and his fortune must always be EYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEE of the tiger.

(Told you I suck at singing)

"The Sunshine Underground" or "Setting Sun" by Chemical Brothers.
"Under the Sun", "Solar Cities" or "Sunburn" by Armen Van Buuren (they're mostly instrumental, but very high-energy techno songs, so they might work for a game anyway.)
"Solar Plexus" by BT (more techno)
"Burnt By the Sun" by David Byrne
"Powder Your Face With Sunshine" by Dean Martin
"See the Sun" by Dido
"Sunday Bloody Sunday" by U2 (might work as a pun)
"Solar" by Bill Evans
"The Saga of the Rising Sun" by Ghazal
"Earth In Search of a Sun" by Jeff Beck
"Third Stone From the Sun" by Jimi Hendrix
"The Sun" by Maroon 5
"Talking S*** About a Pretty Sunset" or "Night On the Sun" by Modest Mouse
"Pale Sun" by Cowboy Junkies
"Black Sun" by Dead Can Dance
"The Sun" by DJ Micro (more techno)
"Moontrack: Follow the Sun" or "Solar Impact" by George Acosta (more techno)
"Rayando el Sol" by Mana
"Costa del Sol" by Nobuo Uematsu
"Sundown" by Gordon Lightfoot
"Saturday Sun" by Nick Drake
"Sunlight" or "Solar" by Pat Metheny
"Was a Sunny Day" by Paul Simon
"Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" or "Fat Old Sun" by Pink Floyd
"When the Sun Goes Down in the South" by Roger Miller
"Between Sun & Moon" by Rush
"Cruel Sun" by Rusted Root
"The Sun Is Burning" by Simon & Garfunkel
"You Are My Sunshine" or "On the Sunny Side of the Street" -traditional
"You Are the Sunshine of my Life" by Stevie Wonder
anything from Nothing Like the Sun by Sting
"Here Comes the Sun", "Good Day Sunshine" or "Sun King" by The Beatles
"'Til the Sun Shines" by The Crusaders
"Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden
"Invisible Sun" by The Police
"Sunny August Full of Moon" by Turtle Island String Quartet
"Heart of the Sunrise" or "Nous Sommes du Soleil" by Yes
"The Sun Always Shines on T.V." by A-Ha
"Sunshine Recorder" by Boards of Canada
"Sun" by Akira Yamaoka
"Even the Sun's Happy" by Akari Kaida
"Hot Sun" by Alexander Courage
anything by K.C. and the Sunshine Band
"Final Sunset" by Brian Eno
"Silent Sunlight" by Cat Stevens
"The Sundown" by Ennio Morricone

Yes, I realize that most of these wouldn't go over well for what you're trying to do. But they're some of the things I ran across looking for solar references in my collection. Just so you know, there is some stuff out there.

Suerte.

What about "I'll Follow the Sun"? Really, though, you'll never get permission for a Beatles song.

(No, I don't have any helpful input. *points* He stole all my ideas!)
