Off the top of my head: turn of the century-ish -- designer/writer/artist.
Possibly most famous for fabric and paper designs. Associated with the Pre-Rafaelites. His esthetic competed with that of Art Nouveau -- he was a strong believer in ornament -- cleanly stated ornament. Morris colors are earthy blues and greens.
He also designed and made books and typography. He was one of the last classical arbiters of taste, with more thoughtfulness and less arrogance than Ruskin.
He might also have been associated with early ideas in Socialism.
There, a core dump from my chaotically ill-educated mind.
