I'm sick of Micro$oft, I've been for years. Yet I always had an excuse not to spend 20 GB of my HDD for a differnt OS. I tried to make Windows work well for many, many years, and immunise it, but it simply requires too much hard work! Mind you, I can probably do it - but that means completely erasing my HDD, and installing applications for about 2 hours before connecting to the Internet, then another 1-2 hours of heavy configuration after I have connected to the net - something that I'm sick of doing, because everything must be in right order in order to work flawlessly.
So I finally movd over to Kanotix, and installed it on my HDD. I was actually going for Libranet 3, but my fathr said that it's not worth it. Still, Kanotix (and its predecessor Knoppix, too) was (were) always meant for CD use, and use other Debian systems for the HDD. But whatever! (Damn, I'm becoming Am*rican!)
This whole project only succeeded because I spent the last day trying to mess around with the IDE settings (I had both HDDs configured as "Slaves" and the CD-drives as "Masters"), with physical failure to achieve what I wanted. My father found a final soluion after a long attempt to solve the problems.
Best thing about everything was that the Forum is much quicker now! To hell with you, M$!
