Have you ever noticed how sometimes it's great to come back home? Sure I'm stuck in the land of no public transportaion (well sure there is some but let's be honest) without a car but overall I'm having a great time, and I've only been in town for 17 hours.
I'm here for a friend's wedding next weekend and to just sorta hang out. And already I've discovered that clothes here fit me And that boys will come up to me and start conversations. Why can't things like that happen on the east coast. Oh and the weather is warm with a breeze!
Now I'm sure I'll be perfectly happy to head home once I start having to just hang out at the house. But, for now woo Omaha!

Or we would be if we were there already instead of 200 miles away packing stupid boxes because the stupid movers are coming at 10 o'clock in the stupid morning.

Let us know if you want to get together (if you have time, of course). Perhaps dinner this week with Bob and Dana....?

Wednesday I have class, but Thursday is good. Friday I wanted to pop into the Summer Arts Festival downtown. Feel free to join us. Saturday I think we're going to Worlds of Fun, assuming it's not too hot.

Okay, you say Omaha, I think "Hi/low." Now, you're talking about the World Series, to boot. How can everyone not be thinking about poker?

My dad went today. Xavier and I aren't big baseball fans. The biggest tour attraction we have all year, and I've never been to it.

. . .somewhere in Middle America. Get right to the heart of the matter/It's the heart that matters most.
Yeah, I'm going back to Utahr in a month. I'm looking forward to it. I'll get to play basketball with people who understand me. (That has to do with my meagre skill set, and the complementary ones of most of my Utah friends).
Actually, it's probably mostly my desire to flee humidity. Blech.

I was just telling Monica(Val's cousin) that she should bring you along some time. *laugh* I think she thinks it's weird that I know you. Let's see so Sat. is my friends' wedding. Other than that I only have plans on Tuesday thus far. Thurs. would probably work well for me b/c everyone I know has to work the next day so no fun plans like dancing all night long can be made.
Is shakespeare on the green this weekend?

Yes it is! Pericles and Othello are playing this year. A few years ago I saw Macbeth. It was almost magical when the whole audience chanted along with the witches:
Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
The atmosphere is amazing. Not to mention free! It is outside and a bring-your-own-blanket/chair event.
Pericles is opening that night. Now I'm pretty familiar with Shakespeare, but I'll admit, I don't know a lot about that one.
Any ideas for restaurants? What is everyone's price range?
Edit: Yes, Sarah, she does think it strange we know each other but have never met.

That's okay I think Monica has gotten used to me being strange.
So let me know what you guys want to do. My price range is sorta cheaper is better but that I don't like fast food and such. If people wanted we could picnic at Shakespeare on the green, or we could go do mexican mmmm food that is hard to find in new england

I'm not really into mexican (grew up in upstate NY, where all we had was Taco Bell). I would be willing to tag along if its what the group decides though.
Do you guys like Chinese? Me and Nicole love a restaurant here which is a buffet of really good chinese food, with a great mongolian grill included with the meal. The bad part is that its in west omaha. Its about 10$ a person.
Other than that, I'm having trouble thinking of anything which would be non-fast food, but still both cheap and good. There's some great food here, but man is some of it expensive.
However, Niki has been here longer, and might be able to think of more places...

We just ate at the Chinese Buffett on Father's day. *laugh* Really that exact one. Okay not into mexican. Hrm. All the places I'm thinking of are actually too close to the world series/downtown to be practical this week. Bah!

Famous Dave's sounds good. Which one and how do we get there?
Or you could all come to Dana and Bob's Front Porch Cafe. We're dining alfresco until we excavate though the boxes in the dining room.

The first one is the downtown one. Are we avoiding that area? Its pretty close to where you are Dana, but I've never been here for a college world series, so I don't know what its like downtown. We'll have to decide between the other ones if not...
(Unless of course you guys are in the mood for chinese tomorrow...

We will go wherever. Let's see...there's 5 people total. We could each go to a different Famous Dave's and Xav could go to the Chinese place. We'll meet later to compare notes.

Bob, I emailed you a contact phone number. Oh, and you might want to update your profile. I do believe you have a new state of residence.

sarahdipity...we can give you a ride, if you don't mind the fact that we may get lost and I found myself driving the wrong way in the changable center lane in Omaha the other day.
If that offer sounds good, just e-mail me at: Bscopatz AT data-nexus DOT com

Yeah, like I said, the links don't work, you need to cut and paste. I don't know why it won't.

Yeah, the flash was a lot kinder to me than you in that one.
One of the pics we got off the camera (lost the cable to hook up to computer, so we got a lot of old pics off) is me, Kat, and BannaOJ on me and Niki's bed and BobAndDanaCon is the worst picture of me ever taken. I'm sort of doing a crazy half-blink thing which makes me look like I was just hit on the head by an anvil or something. Yuck.
