Writer Evan Hunter dies at age 78

Evan Hunter, who wrote the Ed McBain 87th Precinct detective series as well as novels including "The Blackboard Jungle," died of cancer of the larynx, his agent said. He was 78.

Sure they do. Its just that now we identify the specific bolidly failure that killed the bloke instead of saying that they died of old age. If someone dies of a stroke at 97 years old did they die of a stroke or old age? Once upon a time the answer was old age, but now we put it down as a stroke, even if the stroke was a result of the body wearing down in its advanced age.
