I watched the fireworks on TV. Like every year, I'm led to wonder why NYC's fireworks display always kicks the crud out of ours down here in DC.

Saw some fireworks, forced my family to watch 1776, then got yelled at for singing along with all the songs.

Good times.

I never sing along with the songs in 1776. I listen intently, then sing them over again after the movie is over.

My 4th was good. I got to spend more time with my three brothers, all together, than I have since I was nineteen.

YEA NOT EVERYONE IS AMERICAN WHY DO YOU TAKE IT FOR GRANTED THAT WE CELEBRATED "4TH" HUH? YOU MAKE US FEEL UNIMPORTANT WHEN YOU DO THAT AND THATS MEAN. WE DEMAND AN APOLGY - PERHAPS IN BROWNIE FORM - AND ALSO A THREAD ASKING WHAT WE DID ON OUR RESPECTIVE NATIONAL DAYS.

Do Canadians skip directly from July 3rd to July 5th then?

I saw fireworks on the 4th. In the car, driving home from putting in a 10-hour workday. I got so much done with no one there to bother me! [Big Grin]

Actually, funny you should mention it, I didn't actually realize that it was July 4th until it wasn't anymore -- that is, on the 5th I said, "Hey, yesterday was the 4th."

Maybe there's a weird thing called the Canadian Time-Warp.

All this to say, I don't remember what I did on the 4th.

Mind you, that's also the only thing I remember about the 5th.

Oh, right, Canada Day is the First. July 1st, that is. Where has my mind gone? Probably run off with whichever was that first thing to go that you mentioned...

Gee, this is really getting confusing.

It was pretty good. Got invited to a neighbor's cook out, so I went over there. Walked downtown to see twenty minutes of fireworks and then went back to help clean up.
