Does anyone know anything about this guy? I'm a little surprised that Bush didn't nominate his gardner or something. Other than that, all I know about him is what I read here. I love Wikipedia.
On the one hand, it's nice that someone is being nominated to a post that he seems to have some relevant experience for. On the other hand, although I haven't read the linked speeches just yet, based upon what it says in the article it seems that he may be a little soft on Bush's big government ideals, and the policy of tax cuts without corresponding spending cuts, which really bothers me.
Those are just my very first impressions, though. Anyone have any better informed opinions?

Luckily, the fed chief has nothing to do with tax or spending cuts .
I'm skeptical of some of his positions, but the disagreement is almost certainly mild and academic. He's in the mainstream of monetary policy, similarly to greenspan. His personality doesn't seem particularly offensive, which is also important.
He's a perfectly reasonable candidate, though I would have preferred one of Greenspan's internal preferences (who were independents and democrats).
