In my youth I often fantasized about having supernatural powers (as most of us have ). And after much thought and reflection I decided that the power of flight would be my #1 choice if I was ever offered to have any one superpower.
What would be yours?

regeneration. as much as i would want to have something extra that normal people wouldnt, i think being able to heal from almost any wound would be better.

As I get older...the power to stop hair from growing on various parts of my body seems very desirable.
I guess I would need to be able to both cause and stop growth on myself and others for the power to reach 'super' level.

The power I would like to have is the power to go without sleep... there just seems to be too much to do and not enough waking hours in the day.

Regardless of whatever I said in any previous of one of these threads, right now I'd like to be a shapeshifter.
Not to make me look like anyone other than me, but to make me look better. Younger. Thinner. Maybe even shapeshift away some of my (minor) health problems.

When I was a little girl, I was always having fantasies of having superpowers.
If I was in the shower, I would let the water run down my arm and off my outstretched fingers, and pretend to be Super Water Girl, able to have water flow from my outstretched fingers.
If I had bubble gum, I would pretend to be Super Bubble Girl, able to blow enormous bubble gum bubbles that could enable me to float off the ground.
But, if I could pick any super power, I would go with the power to miraculously heal the sick and injured.

I did the EXACT SAME THING. Except, well, Super Water Boy. I think.

Every time I see this post I hear "Wonder Boy" from Tenacious D in my mind.

That do anything for ya? That's levitation holmes. How 'bout the power to kill a yak, from 200 yards away... with mind bullets! That's telekinesis, Kyle. How 'bout the power, to move you?

<blink> Wow. Me too. I mean, not with the nifty superhero name, but I used to do that as well.

Especially since the water didn't have much pressure rolling off my hand.
I used to move my arm around and fiddle with the angle to see how I could get the water to go the furthest out. Gawd, was I pathetic. <grin>

Hmm... I seem to get that power every time I go for a long run. Posts: 2437 | Registered: Apr 2005

Actually... I do have a superpower. The problem is that it works erratically. I can make things happen by hoping they won't. Conversely, I can make things not happen by hoping they will.
The problem is that if I'm at all conscious of using the power, it goes into the obvious infinite loop and crashes (buffer overload), letting things take their natural course. It's only when I forget the rule of "Speak your dream and kill it" that it works.

I'd like to be able to instantly read through osmosis - or diffusion, I suppose, would be the more correct terminology.
This power would not be used for fun, non-school reading, but only for the mountains of academic reading I have to slog through.

When I was six or seven, I was convinced that I could build myself wings and actually fly with them. I tested several models, but they all failed - luckily, I only jumped off my swing set and not the roof. Posts: 952 | Registered: Jun 2005

I have been deemed a summoner by a fellow hatracker, for my ability to be talking about someone, and then they appear online, or to be thinking about a sertain song shortly before it plays, or a specific episode of a show before it is on.
Though personally i'd rather have superhuman speed, of course i'd mainly use it to get dishes done faster at work, or make food quicker.

Man, all these healers and world savers... I must be an evil person because I'd want to be invisable so I could spy on people... or able to teleport.

I was just watching Lois and Clark before I give it back to rivka. *sigh* How do you choose? But really, the one thing that's always bugged me a little is Lois being that close to Superman and not realizing that he's Clark. That would be some power-- the power to convince everyone that you're someone you're not (or not someone you are.)

Everytime I see this thread I expect it to be a discussion of the US and if another nation is going to rise to be a superpower or if we'll remain the only one.

I think the thing is that superman can see through walls, or see things hundreds of miles away like they were right in front of him, so no one expects him to have glasses.

Yeah. That's why I can never recognise him when he is disguised as mild mannered reporter Clark Kent.

As many times as we need to express how much we would love to have such powers. Once again, I wish I could orb like Paige from Charmed, flight would also be a good thing.
