I try to see all of the films nominated for Best Picture, and by all accounts this will be one of them. I am interested in those who won't see a film because of its 'politically correct subject matter'. I certainly did not deny myself the enjoyment of the Narnia film just because I am uncomfortable with the overtly religious elements of it.

I would love to have the luxury of seeing almost any film with my Hatrack girlfriends (who are also my rl girlfriends, thanks to various WenchCons).
Not that this particular movie screams "Chick Flick", but I don't usually go for the ones that do.

That wasn't what I meant at all. I have no desire to go see Brokeback Mountain because it sounds incredibly boring to me. I have a lot of friends in the next few weeks who are going to try to get me to watch it because of it's "powerful message" and that's not a good enough reason for me to see a movie. If there is a movie with politically correct subject matter that I'm also interested in seeing, then I'd go see it.
