frenulum

No, not quite. Hell, I'll check a book.

Maxillary vestibule? It's hard because they don't put it under Nose or under Lip.

philtrum. I believe a frenulum is an upper lip about 4 feet lower on a male.

Elliot S! Maggin spelled it "filtrum" in his Superman novels. And claimed that only those races with filtrums were able to smile.

I think her natural lips look better. They are less swollen, and the edges are more defined.

According to that link, the cupid's bow is the line at the top of the lip; the border between the philtrum and the lip proper.

Obviously the scientific term is snot furrow.

I noticed those photos also, kat, and I agree. Her new lips just look kind of swollen and undefined. The original ones look much better, in my opinion.

From what the journal says, the original lips aren't her original lips anyway. This is like her 3rd or 4th procedure. I'll be she was rather pretty to start out with, but now... meh.

It's worth pointing out that I don't have any particular problem with cosmetic surgery in general--I just didn't think that that particular application of it was particularly successful, from an an aesthetic standpoint.

*grin

It's a good thread.

(For what it's worth, "frenulum" is the general term for a little tag of skin that connects something (usually a larger fold) to the underlying structure. There is one common place for a frenulum in the genitalia (male and female), but you can also feel one on the underside of your upper lip, in the middle up under where your nose is. Also, there is often one in a similar place inside the lower lip.)

Ew. That means two weeks ago, I had a doctor cutting my frenulum. And, like, sticking needles through it. [Eek!]

Cool.

Yes, you are, I am afraid, no longer virginal in the frenulum. Alas.

[Hey! That's one heckuva huge frenulum.

Note: please do not do a google images search on "frenulum" and expect most of the pictures to be of the mouth area. I'm just sayin'. [Embarrassed] ]

Elliot S! Maggin Superman novels

They age well, I think. In fact, I'm making a new topic.

It's a picture or the inside of a person's lip.

It's fairly disturbing.

If you go back to the index on the site Kat linked to, most of the stories are by the same woman.

Reading them is quite disturbing.

quote:
I went to my doctor with the complaint of my having a "ball-peen hammer nose"; clinically referred to as a 'Hanging Columella'. Now, I never really thought of my nose as unsightly until a very rude photographer said I had a "Ball-peen Hammer" nose. What the heck does that mean?!? So, ever since then I have been insecure about it (9 whole years until the day of the operation). Well, my doctor told me if I had just had the tip nipped and tucked and narrowed that the bone structure towards the top would look wide. Well, I never even thought I had a thick nose until he pointed it out. Alas! $3,000USD more than just having the tip 'done'. But, then of course after he pointed it out I obsessed about it. He was right, I had to have it done!
Ugh.
