I'm trying to make a slideshow for a 60th birthday party, including pictures from the birthday boy's life and music from along the way.

I know how to set up a slide show and do all sorts of neat effects things, and even how to insert music.

What I don't really know is how I would fade one song out and fade another in, sort of mixing them together rather than having one stop abruptly and another start.

Anyone know how I could do that?

Given the topic says PowerPoint, I suspect that's what he's using.

Ah. See, that's why you're a genius.

FC, you can't fade a sound file from within PowerPoint; you'll need to edit your audio track with another application.

But I'd actually recommend using another application to put your movie together.

My thread title has rogue levels. My apologies.

Well, seeing as I don't have any other programs that can do slideshow presentations (to my knowledge), what can I do about editing these sound files without having to go out and purchase any new software?

Download Audacity. You'll have to do the fades manually.

Audacity is what I was gonna suggest. [Smile] It has a timer that can help you time when you want to do the fades while you're editing it, and it's super user-friendly.
