I am the new president of a service club at my school, Circle K International. For the last 3 years we've gone down to Juarez to build houses for needy families and this year we will be going to Tijuana to build several houses and a community center. Unfortunately, the costs aren't insignificant and we need to raise money to fund this and we are planning to get as much corporate donations as we possibly can. I was wondering if people here could help me brainstorm different companies to hit up for support (either monetary or in-kind donations). I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Jesse

Talk to local companies or companies that have headquarters or significant presence in your town.

*tongue firmly in cheek*

How about the Minutemen? If people have nice housing, they're less likely to try to enter the U.S. illegally.

Do this, and then get on the phone/e-mail. It really does work. My company gets requests of this nature at least 50 times a week, and we do actually contribute - whether it's a product discount, free products or sometimes even money.

We have already started contacting some local companies. We usually get about $150-200 from grocery stores for food, but no one has really tried doing this on a larger scale. We're expecting more than 70 people to go this year, so I'm a little nervous and want to get things going as early as possible.

Wal-Mart. This is the type of local thing they love to support.
