Recently there have been "Complete" collections of The Far Side and Calvin & Hobbes.

We're in the process of seeing complete high quality reprinted collections of Peanuts, Gasoline Alley, and (oddly, because the strip is still going) Dennis the Menace.

(Why Dennis? As far as I can see, the only thing more daring about the early Dennis cartoons was the abundance of implied adultery humor. Bleah.)

There's plenty of good strips that could be collected...especially ones that are currently out of print in any form.

I would -kill- to see a complete high quality reprinted collection of Walt Kelly's Pogo.

(The Fantagraphics attempts in the 90s were ended prematurely, are all out of print, and the binding was cheap and flimsy.)

Which ones would you like to see?

Honestly, I don't really find print comics funny. The only currently running comic I really like is Brewster Rockit. Since it started in 2004, it's probably a little early for a "complete" collection.

Overall, I just find web comics to be much more interesting. I would love to see Goats put out another volume. I have the first four, but several years of comics have been released since then and I'd love to have them all together.

I'd like a complete Zits, but it's still ongoing. Maybe a complete Bloom County.

I'd love to have a complete Krazy Kat and a complete Wormy collection. I'll second the Pogo and Bloom County nominations as well.

In terms of Webcomics (and webcomics that are still running, at that), I'd be willing to shell out for a complete Order of the Stick, as Porter said, and a complete Questionable Content. I would happily check a complete Sluggy Freelance from the library.

That's exactly why it would be so awesome to see a complete collection now.

If there was a collection of Sluggy Freelance I would gladly check it out from the library and take it on an airplane trip.

9 Chickweed Lane really needs a "to-date" collection. Badly. I love that strip, and I can only see one month's worth of strips at any given time. I can't even buy the books, because there ARE none, except for the one about that cat.

See, this is another reason why more classic comics should be collected...the notion that a comic strip -has- to have a gag. [Frown]

My father got a two-volume full-color hard-bound collection of Far Side cartoons, complete with essays by Gary Larson (including letters from fans/nitpickers/haters) for Christmas last year. I was in heaven reading those...
