Kind of suprised to not see this.

JERUSALEM -- In a landmark ruling, Israel's Supreme Court ordered the government Tuesday to recognize same-sex marriages performed abroad.

The lone dissenter on the seven-judge panel was an observant Jew, highlighting the controversy the decision immediately touched off among ultra-Orthodox Jews and other conservative groups in Israel.

Interesting, the political spectrum in Israel is something I have wanted to know but have yet to have opportunity to read up on.

The political spectrum in Israel is all over the place, from the far Right to the far Left plus an assortment of parties which don't fit into standard molds.

I don't see this as being a big deal. They also recognize interfaith marriages and non-religious marriages performed abroad. They still don't recognize any of the above performed within their borders. I think it is a good compromise for being a religious state though.

I think that at some point, we should go to the consulate and get them to register my daughter's adoption.
