Doc, I was going great guns until last Tuesday. Terribly sick, and still coming out of it. I slipped and started eating whatever I felt like fixing (or ordering) and it's going to be hard to get back on the horse this week. I'm trying. Thanks for this post.

I particuarly need it. I'm actually finishing this year heavier than I started.
Oops.
I lost 12 pounds and was so close to my goal, and then ballooned up to worse than where I started, when my mum was hospitalised. But she's out and healthy, and soon I leave my car behind. I have no excuses.

I'm not sure if I'm going to re-up or not, I was doing SparkPeople last year, then fell away. Kept losing weight without it, but I've been stuck in a rut so maybe I need to get back to something different.

I went to track on SparkPeople this morning, and realized that yesterday is wiped out.
Can someone just check their tracker and see if it is the website's or my problem?
I love this site! It is like Weight Watcher's online, but...free!
Zeugma got me interested a couple of years ago, but I bailed. Argh. Maybe this will be the last time I need something like this.

Hmm, I didn't actually log in yesterday, but the stuff I had added on the 6th is still there. Did it wipe everything or just yesterday?

I'm on as tricia_v, I'll try and remember to sign pooka at the end of my posts. I mainly want to get leaner, and if that means gaining a few pounds, so be it.

Yeah, I was hoping the bump would bring some old people back as well as bring some new people in.

One new person here. I was looking for a way to track my exercise schedule and see what impact it had on my calorie consumption, so SparkPeople looked perfect.
Now all I want to know is: how do I get one of those cool progress bars for my message board posts?

I'm thinking about it. Probably not until after my vacation over next weekend, 'cause that makes it too difficult.

I've had a sparkepeople page for years but find the site a bit tedious to use, especially when building recipes. I've been using myfooddiary, which is $10 a month, but it is so easy to put new foods in there. This morning I made a new waffle recipe and within 60 seconds I had done a search for each ingredient (flour, eggs, oats, etc.), gave it a name, a number of servings, and plugged it in under breakfast.
Sparkpeople might be easier if I planned to follow the preset meal plans or use premade foods that are in their database, but I simply won't do that. I cook. I make my own bread, waffles, soups, stews, etc. I find that following diets which don't allow me to cook the foods I enjoy are not diets that I will follow.
Besides, I'm nursing right now and sparkpeople doesn't seem to care. Or at least, if there's a way to let it know I wasn't able to find it.

Well, I haven't been on SparkPeople lately but I ought to start tracking again. I weigh a few pounds more than the last time I was using it but I'm running about 20 miles a week right now. By the end of March I'll be doing 30+ just in time for a marathon. Hopefully the weight loss will come
