(there are only about 5 or 6 guitarists I would call guitar geniuses, or at least 5 or 6 I'd consider historically at the top of the game. Of course, I'm not musically inclined, so that may limit me.)

Hendrix it is! You go, Flaming Toad on a Stick.

Why did you think it had to be a member of The Who, aspectre? (Hendrix had an album IIRC titled "Band of Gypsys.") I take it this may be a joke. [Smile]

And unless I'm quite mistaken, Hendrix left The Jimi Hendrix Experience and formed a new band, Band of Gypsies before his death.

Is it in the general rules that all clues have to begin with the same letter, or is that the "Hatrack Variation" or does it not matter? [Smile]

Hullabaloo is a Cranium-family game that uses a colored die and set of cards to determine how you are supposed to get a particular idea across to another player. You can do it through drawing, descriptions of "bigger than X but smaller than Y," acting it out in gestures and non-word sounds, or (like above) a list of words that start with the same letter.

(emphasis mine)

Zophar, rivka is correct that the "all start with one letter of your chosing" part is a rule of Hullabaloo. I don't have a need to continue that if you want to modify the game, though.

I like the restriction, as it makes it harder for me. But -- eh -- I'm flexible. [Smile]

Far too easy with too many clues. How about no hypenated words, no category, and adding one word per set of guesses.
(The cluegiver can't be expected to check every time between guesses.)
eg
Mausoleum
