I might actually watch two minutes of the super bowl if it's colts vs bears. Maybe.

Oh, and the Bears still suck.

Go Colts!

I'm tired of seeing the Patriots in the Super Bowl, and since the Browns will probably never get as far as the Wild Card round again, I have to go for my no. 2 team, the Colts.

:runs out, being pelted my tomatoes:

Go Pats! I'm not allowed to watch the game anymore because as soon as I walked in the door the Colts starting scoring. So now I have to resort to watching it online. Oh well. Go Pats!

If it's Colts vs. Bears in the Super Bowl, I have to think the Bears will win it. In a "best defensive team vs best offensive team" scenario, defense will win, IMO. Raiders vs. Bucs?

No. If the Colts can pull of this comeback, it will be a defining moment for them. Manning and Dungy will really have it together then, mentally as well as talent-wise.

And frankly, the Bears are nowhere near as good a team as the Colts. They are a decent team in a crappy conference. They can beat an emotionally exhausted Patriots team, but not a confident Colts.

I am so looking forward to our Super Bowl Tea Party, where we mute the game so we can chat between commercials.

I'm listening to the game on the radio, so I know what kind of mood Kale will be in when he comes home from watching the game at our friends' house (the friends have a fancy TV, and it would've been a nuisance to drag our TV out of the closet).

Go counterculture geeks!

Da Bears will win.

But now I have to wait two weeks and fret about Rex the whole time. I have faith though. GO BEARS!!!

The Bears are one of two good teams in the NFC, and the other one lost today. I agree the NFC was a very bad conference this year, but the Bears are very good. I just don't know if their offense is good enough to get past these next two weeks without some sort of stagnation. They don't have the history of discipline that the Colts do, and they may not be good enough to keep the ball long enough to keep the Colts offense off the field.

Then again, the Bears' defense may be good enough to stop the Colts. I know what I saw today against the Saints. They embarassed the Saints. This could be for two reasons: Either the Bears really are that good, or the Saints finally folded due to ther youth and inexperience. If it is the latter, then the Colts are good enough to beat that defense. If it is the former, then the Bears should start sizing their fingers for that ring.

I would like to see the bears win, but the colts are due and Peyton is hungry. Its like John Elway all over again. Man I am heart broken but I still love my Pats. I of course root for my home team, you know that city you were born, but they have the odds of getting the play offs as I do I getting Orson Scott Card to my first draft manuscript and cut me a check for being so damn cool,.. on that note next year I will cry from every mountain here in Denver GO LIONS!!!

AJ, he shaved his legs in high school (according to my high school health teacher who was the athletic director when he was in high school) so I'd not put it past him. I still want them to make a poster of him posing with his dad's horse.

I'm not even sure when the superbowl is... I'm assuming is the 4th or so?

I think I'll invite all my friends over for an anti-football party. We'll watch Veronica Mars and give each other pedicures and eat fondue. Just one of the benefits of being an all female household (except the cat, but we had him whacked.) [Razz]

This woman speaks the truth!

I couldn't be happier with this year's super bowl lineup. I want the bears to go all the way this year, but I still have a soft spot for the colts!

If at the party everyone is a bears fan I will probably become the lone, colt, voice of dissent at the game [Big Grin]

Shaving one's legs is reasonably common among runners, swimmers and cyclists. I'm not as personally acquainted with football players but the reasoning for doing so would be the same.

You get less road rash, or grass rash with shaved legs than you do with the little hairs pulling as you slide, as well as less general clothing abrasion. It also hurts less upon removal when your legs are taped for games, or when you've got a bandaid covering up where you did scrape something.

I have a friend, that I wish I had a good picture of, because when he was younger and thinner his face and Rex Gs face were strikingly similar, down to the monobrow. He was from south Florida too, so I've always wondered if it had to do with the local gene pool.

I think it was because girls thought it was pretty, had nothing to do with why swimmers and bikers do it. Rex isn't from south florida though, he's from Bloomington, he just got lots of money to go to florida for college.

The pats will never live down the stain of the tuck rule. Sorry. You're doomed. You won a super bowl not by your own merit and that renders it completely, 100% worthless.

Hey if the zebras throw you a bone, you take it. Personally I think the Pats are the best team the NFL has seen for a long time. I am sad they are not going to Superbowl 41, but I think they should give other people a try at it ever so often.

Now why I think the Pats are such a great team, this coming form a Lions fan. (Yes we do exist) The Pats are the best team simple because of that, they are a TEAM. Look at the dynasty they have held even with QB changes, and injuries shooting holes through the starting line up. They go real deep on the bench, and I think this is because they have a few great players, but no huge ticket guys like Peyton, or Vick, or TO. Instead of building a team around a key player, they built a team around solid fundamentals, and a good play book. They have pro bowlers yes, but they are good players because of who they play with. They are a good team full of good players, showing they can do great things.

Living in Worcester Mass for a bit of my life, I had the chance to meet a few of the players. This only made my feelings about this team stronger. These are some of the humblest down to earth people I have ever talked with. My personal favorite is Teddy Bruschi. That mans drive could power New York for a life time. He is very dedicated, and easy to talk to. When I talked with him at a charity event we attended, he acted as if he knew every body there all his life, and was just as excited to see us, as we were him. I worked in a business that gave me access to a lot of sports stars, and most of them left me very unimpressed out of the game. The Pats seem to attract genuine human beings to their roster. I did not see evidence of a single big head.

Sounds like the rule was applied correctly. I have more sympathy for those who think the rule is garbage, than those claiming it was ruled incorrectly. Plus, the Raiders let the Pats into that game long before the tuck rule play.

And of course, in the following game (The Super Bowl with the self-proclaimed "Greatest team on Turf", playing on turf in a dome) the Pats completely outplayed a team that was much deeper in talent, in a display that should make any football fan appreciate it. Oh, wait, Raiders supporters aren't fans, they're just English football hooligans who couldn't get the accent down pat. [Wink]

Assuming I agreed with you, which I don't (though I respect your opinion), that would still leave the Pats with two recent Super Bowl wins.

Slightly better than doomed, I'd say. [Wink]

(BTW, I had to google "tuck rule" to remember it. I don't think there's any talk of any 'stain' this side of the Rockies.)

Gimme a break, the pats weren't even across the 50 yard line when that happened, the raiders still had a chance to stop them, that play made it 3rd down, they just crumbled. Then again in overtime the Pats marched right down the field. Let it go Raiders fans, it's bad for your health.
