Either my laptop is really crappy (3-year Dell Inspirton 5100) or at the age of 21, I have the hearing of an old person.

Or I'm still temporarily deaf from the parades yesterday.

67, and wishing I hadn't listened. That hurt pretty badly.

That's possible, I listened to it on my laptop. My boyfriend has awsome speakers, I can try it on his computer tonight. My experience was very similar to xnera's.

I thought I heard a very faint whine, but I couldn't tell if it was my imagination or if it was really there.

I heard it -- and I'm old! [Smile]

But it wasn't annoying or piercing; faint, even with the volume cranked too high.

My home PC wasn't up to it; this is at work.

i can hear it. its just like when u walk into a hallway or a room, and u can hear that the tv is on... even if its on mute. it just gives off that electronic pitch noise whatchamacallit.

Though, being a college student i can say without a doubt.. if i heard that several times in a classroom it might bother me. it would depend on if the class was in a computer lab. i only sit right in the front in 1 class and so keeping my phone set on vibrate is a much easier alternative. unless its quiet in the whole class cuz of an exam... shame on those ppl for wanting that ringtone XD
