Pretty interesting link, if you're a comic book geek. I liked explanation for the Joker's "religion". I honestly didn't see the homoerotic stuff in Batman: Dark Knight Returns until I read that article.
According to the list, Alvin Maker is a mormon. Posts: 80 | Registered: Jun 2007

Sure, his life is based on Joseph Smith, but the list is supposed to be a compilation of the character's own religious beliefs. I don't think Joseph Smith has created LDS [edit: within the book's own timeline] yet for Alvin Maker to be a part of, yet.
It's a minor point, anyway.

Also, to continue quibling about Alvin... It has his 'known as' as "Red Profit". If he was know as the Red Profit in the comic book, it must veer from the novel significantly. Also, he didn't get the last name 'Maker' until, what? Heartfire? Crystal City? Certainly not until after Alvin Journeyman. That just wouldn't make sense.
Finally, I absolutely have to find the comics with these three characters: BattlePope, SuperPope and the Incredible Popeman.

Some of those are really a stretch, like saying that Gaiman's Death is Mormon because her image was modeled after a goth Mormon girl in Salt Lake City.

Okay...I know Mary Marvel has never been portrayed as LDS, either by Fawcett or DC. Where did they get these denominations? Posts: 6689 | Registered: Jan 2005

You know, I'm actually a little miffed that they consider being vegan a religion.
And the fact that they say at the top that it's "fictional characters practicing real religions," but list religions that are... well, not real. Martian religion, anyone?
