Thanks, everyone! We're both pretty excited.
It was a very sweet proposal. He waited until the day we celebrated Christmas with just my mom, dad, and brother. His was the last gift. He made me cover my eyes, and when I uncovered them, he was on one knee. I couldn't verbally say yes because I was sobbing, but I think he knew my answer. Both of our hands we shaking so badly that it's a wonder the ring ever got on my finger.
Behind me, I could hear both my dad and brother getting a little weepy. My mom is a little quieter.

And, Breyer, the scarf is so lovely. I got it on Saturday but haven't had a lot of time to tell you. I really love it. I want to wear it to dinner tonight, but we are going to one of those hibachi places where they cook your food in front of you, but I have changed my mind for fear of it going up in flames. I will mail a check tomorrow. Thanks again

If anyone is in contact with Bob or Dana, let them know I want to invite them to dinner tonight (if they are in town). I left them both messages on their phones.
I would love to have a Con in our honor. I wish we could afford to invite you all to the actual wedding. Phil and I are on spring break in March, so we could try for something then.

Saudade and Andrei, though they met on a satellite site, the Ansible moo.
edit: almost forgot Grisha and Kim, though she's not a hatracker, she was friends with one, which is how they met.
Aunt Kristine's Bene Gesserit breeding program is coming along nicely.

You have a very good memory, Tatiana. Even I didn't remember that. I knew he signed on and was looking for music to download because he lost all of his, and he liked what I recommended. Things happened very fast from there (February 15, 2005). By July of that year he moved from California to be with me in Omaha.

I thought you were already dating when I registered, at least close (though hadn't met). That was April of 04. Maybe not. I know my first memory of you was in chat starting our own band with shani.
