I really liked this movie. I'm not sure why. It was pretty weird and creepy. But I did like it.

I liked it too. But I never read the book, so that might have made a difference in my opinion.

I adore this movie Well, the child in me who watched it growing up does. The adult in me recognizes its badness

I much prefer The Secret of NIMH. Though, it's different from it's source material. Most films based on books are. And this movie holds a special place in my heart because it was the first DVD that I added to my personal collection.

It's more than just different, it creates a completely new story using only the same names (and some vague concepts) from the original book.
Annoying, as I find Robert O'Brien's surprisingly sophisticated tale of hyper-intelligent rats to be much more interesting than the Glowing Deus Ex Machina Amulet film.
(Plus, Making Jenner into a mustache-twirling EVIL villain was so lame.)

I really like the bit with the Owl regardless. That's some of the coolest animation ever, if memory serves. I haven't watched the film in quite some time.
