Should the French actually encourage the pirates as part of their effort to curb global warming? I mean, isn't the temperature of the earth inversely proportional to the number of pirates in the world?
All kidding aside, I wish the French the best of luck in curbing piracy.

Is there a joke to the "burning makeup" references in the Stonehenge article? It seems like they just made up a bunch of weirdness in an attempt to be funny.

Okay, so the piracy article was interesting, but the Stonehenge article just hurt my soul. Maybe I'm just too much of an anthropology student (it is my major, after all), but I really don't find anything funny about turning Stonehenge into a coffee shop. The joke just didn't seem funny.

I haven't read the link, but the idea sounds funny to me.

I think it's just that the joke was bad. I don't mind people making fun of Stonehenge, but it was just a poorly written article that just ended up being in poor taste. I think that's my problem more than Stonehenge being turned into a coffee shop (although that would be bad too. Think of Hengebucks? I mean, really)
