I thought this might be a bit of fun to brainstorm publicly on Hatrack, so everyone could help me come up with some awesome ideas.
The 11th of this month is my mom's 50th birthday. Since it's such a landmark birthday, I want to do something special and unique. I always put a lot of thought into gifts anyway, so I don't want a normal thing that I would do, like getting something big I know she really wants... plus, I'm leaving big gifts to my dad.
Instead, I'm thinking about doing a "50" themed gift. DVDs that are 50th anniversary edition, things written/created/made in 1958, whatever. But the "whatever" is the problem... I'm a bit blocked when it comes to ideas.

48 are already out, the other two come out later this year. It would be a good gift idea for a 50 year old who likes coins, if her birthday is after the last two are released.

50 flowers are obviously in order. But aside from that... If you were a millionnaire, I'd advice a 50-days cruise on some boat around the world, but unless you're Bill Gates, I guess won't happen

Haha, well, a lot of these ideas are out of my price range, but I do like them... thanks for the ideas!

Hmm, how 'bout writing lyrics to a song? 50 Ways to Love my Mother.
Y'know, I often worry when I type something that it can be interpreted as something creepy. This time more than most. But I still think there's potential to come up w/ a non-icky take on the old Simon song. ;-)
