According to Wikipedia, today is the 75th anniversary of the release of "It Happened One Night." It was one of Frank Capra's masterpieces, the first film to win all 5 major Academy Awards, and is (in my uneducated opinion) still the gold standard of romantic comedies.
We have the DVD, and it's well worth owning. But any of you who don't have it and don't fancy a trip to the Best Buy or the video store, it's available for instant viewing at Netflix.
So we're watching it again tonight. I know nothing that's going to win at Hugh Jackman's Lame-a-thon tonight is going to be anywhere near as good as this. Who's with me?

That's okay, this month also marks the 15th anniversary of the release of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. That's probably more up your alley.

I'm with you Speed, I love it, I think it's a charming and very funny movie. And Claudette Colbert is GORGEOUS!! I had to force my wife to watch it (she has a crazy prejudice against b&w movies), but she was soon hooked and loved it too.
