My mother-in-law just updated her dead computer to a new one. Problem. She has Front Page 2002. Windows doesn't want to install it, as its too old. Ideas?

Well, yes its old. However, she doesn't have the money to buy both a new computer and new software. Since new software would not run on her new computer, she got the computer first.
She's been running a web-store for 15 years or so. Originally the web-domain demanded the site be written in one HTML format that is not supported anymore. She designed it in Front Page. Years go by and updates are done the same way.
Now she is going with a new company (the old one wants to charge her $99/month to host) and they need the site in the current form of HTML. She needs to redo her site, and the old computer--a portable--had its recharger fried. No one around sells a compatible charger.
Ideas are welcome.

My point was that there are newer HTML editors out there that will work better for her; Web Expressions is the upgrade for FrontPage, although it's considerably different.

most web hosting providers that will cost her something akin to $8 a month have website builders included with their control panels. And free shopping cart software if she sells things through the store.

Is it too old because she is using Windows 7 and the operating system doesn't support Frontpage 2002? Did she have 98, 2000, or XP before this computer?
One option is to create a virtual machine with the old OS, install Frontpage 2002, make the necessary changes and then see about upgrading newer software.

Oh, please don't install a virtual machine just to let your mother use a horrifying outmoded piece of software. Just get her a new version of the software (or, as fugu has suggested, find a host with bundled tools that will be, I guarantee you, as useful as the old version of FrontPage.)

Is learning the HTML and editing the HTML directly in a text editor out of the question? There are handy sites like w3schools that make learning a snap.

Editing the HTML directly, while it does produce better code and is easier to maintain in the long run, can be a little difficult especially when it comes to cross browser compatibility.
