Anyone know if there's a free/cheap way to sync specific contact folders? With Google Sync it's all or nothing.

I use Mozilla Weave. https://mozillalabs.com/weave/ You might want to look into that, but I've never investigated anything beyond its bookmark sync

just a warning. I love using google contacts on my iphone, but recently I've had a number of weird issues (quite probably user-related) where updates will get lost, or whatnot, so try not to do anything strange if you are using Google Sync (or if anyone else is having similar issues, I'd love to corroborate)
