I recently noticed that the folk music of Scotland has several songs called the "Something Boat Song"; which I find a little at odds with the usual image of Scotland. That's just my own wrong impression, of course; they are a boating people as much as the Norwegians are, but one more usually thinks of the highlander on, well, land. High or otherwise.

Anyway, they're all good songs which repay a Youtube search:

Skye boat song (famous)
Tay boat song (haunting)
Mingulay boat song (rousing)

Anyone know of other "X boat song"s?

There's that great Scotch ballad "The Banana Boat Song" made famous by Harry McBelafonte

I've always liked that song. Bananas go better with rum than with Scotch, though.
