Bad image macros. Yeah, that's about the best we can hope from you in terms of sourcing your claims about female psychology.

I hope you will consider that not all evolutionary biology is so wrong-headed and over-simplified.
OK. I'll keep my mind open, but I wish they'd stop using it when it comes to people in this day and age. Especially since the roles are constantly evolving in every culture you can think of.

I'm a little torn about Evolutionary Psychology. I'm positive that people DO have psychology impacted by evolution, but I'm not sure that it presents theories that are particularly falsifiable and I'm not sure how it's useful other than to justify discrimination. The few things we've learned are so miniscule as to be basically meaningless.

I don't think I would describe EP much differently. I mainly ignore it and sociobiology and try to keep focus on regular psychological study.

I don't think they knew enough about ancient people in the first place. Like you get those Man the Hunter people who go on and on about hunting and how it shaped culture and society, but it seems like human beings were mostly gatherers anyway or scavengers according to some folks. How are they supposed to know these details anyway? They seem like such stereotypical Just So stories, especially according to Kimmel. Now, clinical and cognitive psychology is much more interesting. But not Freudian as Freud's theories are kind of stupid.

While this thread moved past Big Love, I just finished the season finale and wanted to rant about it a bit.
********SPOILERS********************
What a terrible season! Does anybody know if the key writers or something changed? I remember in previous seasons feeling really moved by the tenderness of the characters and their emotion. But this season... they abandoned trying to make us feel anything for the characters and seemed to think we'd be entertained solely by ridiculous, grand plotlines. Bill becoming a senator and then exposing the family? Completely unbelievable and uninteresting. Meth at the casino? Nikki's ex-husband impregnating everybody with inbred embryos? What the heck!?!
When last season ended, I was excited about the possibilities. Bill started his own church and there was a vacuum of leadership at Juniper Creek. This season they completely abandoned that plot line. Now Marge wants a three way with Ana and Barb is leaving? I am extremely disappointed.

The season was pretty lame, but at this point, don't you think Marge should want to leave? I mean, really, what is holding her- Bill has kind of gone crazy. And you got to love the jaunt to Mexico. However, on the plus, they had the best female fan service this season (topless Indian at sweat lodge).

I need to finish this season. Maybe to get into the spirit I will grab a 6 pack of Polygamy Porter (Its a beer) and have a marathon!
Polygamy Porter is a beer who's motto is "Why have just one?" and right on the label it says "Take some home to the wives!"
I have to admit when I saw this beer in Lynn's Market in Hurricane, Utah I laughed for about 5 minutes.
I have always had a soft spot for Barb. She is the one character who's happiness I really care about. I feel sorry for her situation and what she has to go through. I hope things work out for her.
