Hah! I fixed the stupid, stupid configuration problem that's been bedeviling me for the last three months. Reasonable results, by the absent gods! I squished that bug like a bug!

So, to be a bit more specific: Some months ago I defended my thesis. It was requested that a particular plot should be put into the thesis before I handed it in, which was fair enough. So I went off to make the plot, and all went haywire: It contradicted what I thought I knew. It turns out that my setup was different between new plot-making and previous fit code, and so the thesis was actually correct; but it's taken me this long to track down the bug. (Which should have been trivial; alas, I looked in all the wrong places first.) So now I can finally complete my thesis and hand it in! Woot!

I hope you didn't look in all the wrong places last. [Razz]

Congrats!

I'm terrible at being a general participant in this forum. I find I only ever post when I want to argue with someone. Here is an attempt at breaking that cycle.

Congratulations! Sounds like you had to go through a lot of work for what should have been a trivial fix, which always sucks. Glad you got it sorted out. [Smile]

Indeed, this is a canonical example of the last 1% of the work taking the remaining 99% of the time. [Big Grin]

Congratulations. I wondered why we hadn't heard anything after your defense. Are you officially graduating this month, then?

Actually there seems to be some bureaucratic issue with deadlines for applying, so probably I won't get my diploma for a bit. But I don't really care when I graduate, as such, I just wanted to be done with this. [Smile]

[Mad]

*wanders off muttering about students who can't respect deadlines*

*cough*

Sorry, that really wasn't about you.

Congrats on being done!
