I think this was my favorite part: "you want to make sure that you cook the meat the whole way through, because you don't want to get sick."

Yeah, I've eaten variations on both halves of that (hot dog in bacon, burger with cheese and egg) which are quite tasty. Combined, they can only be fabulous.

Way too much work when you could just mix some egg and seasoning into the ground beef and then grill everything at once and combine it on the bun.

I don't think I would ever bother making it, but if someone else did I would try it. I would insist on real butter for the bun, though. It would be pretty sad to go through all that work and then ruin it with margarine.

It looks good but I think people with heart disease should never eat this. What I don't like in the procedure is the roasting, because for me roast food are unhealthy. Let's just be careful in eating this because as I said awhile ago it is unhealthy and it may cost us for hospitable bills if ever we get an heart attack.

There's a Hawaiian BBQ place just around the corner from my apartment that makes spam egg sandwiches. I should go today.

Many years ago, when my partner and I lived with roommates, we used to do stuff like this about once a year. I think the most ridiculous thing we ever made was a giant, cheese-filled bacon burger with pizzas for buns.
Though I think my personal favorite was when we used the skins of halved baked potatoes as taco shells. That was less for the novelty and more because we needed some way to eat our taco fixins but lacked any real form of tortilla. It was actually really good.
