And unlike Greece, Italy and Ireland, this time it's littoral.

Severe flooding in Bangkok

Maybe this is where Thailand finally wakes up and realizes that Bangkok (and most of the country, as it happens), simply isn't a viable long term city? I've already seem some proposals from the Prime Minister to turn it into a modern water world with floating and underwater buildings. But seriously, rising sea levels, rains, and a massive flood plain make Bangkok a death trap in the middle distant future. Acts of nature like this should serve as a wake up call.

There's flooding in the northwest, too. On Tuesday, Don Mueang Airport halted flights until at least November 1st.

It's pretty terrible! They're at least better prepared for it than the Pakistan floods, but yes — it's something of a wake-up call. I'm glad it's getting attention.

Was that an intentional pun?

Edit: Too slow.
