Eh, it's her story and from appearances Dumbledore's sexuality wasn't post-mentioned from any sort of publicity purposes-it was just his backstory.
Now what that means it seems to me is that it's largely a non-event. To the extent she seeks some sort of credit for including a gay character would be silly, because she didn't actually. I'm not sure to what extent she has attempted to leverage Dumbledore's sexuality that way, though.
As for Card...well. It's been quite some time since he could be trusted to speak intelligently and honestly on anything pertaining to homosexuality.
