Ron: I think all animals including humans are judged by the actions they take, as reflected by the knowledge they possess. So lions may indeed be guiltless for killing to eat, or to survive, or even to dominate. But if there exist some rule or principle they are cognizant that killing is not what should be done in those circumstances, I believe God will judge them for killing if ultimately it is self-serving.

Heh. Not necessarily. I mean killing the alpha male in a fight, and his offspring is par the course for lions.

Human morality is only relevant to humans. Let the other animals decree their own code of ethics.

There are a few cases of lions or tigers that have become maneaters, and deliberately hunted humans, until some big game hunter was brought in to kill the aberrant creatures. If God intends to resurrect some of the animals who have shared this world with us in order to populate the New Earth (which will have nearly five times as much land area, since there will be no big oceans, and no deserts, and carnivores will become herbivores), then He probably will pass up the former derranged maneaters. Probably no special judgment will be required for this.

Because, after all, God has been so careful to thoroughly cull the natural world for lethal threats to even the favored humans in it, yes? *sigh*

Ron: Maybe, I don't think that's something anybody can know definitively now. We'll have to wait and see. Seems strange to call them aberrations, God has created all sorts of animals that will eat us with varying degrees of probability.

is literally every polar bear on earth an aberration, they are an animal that will purposefully hunt and eat humans without provocation and by nature

I'm not sure that counts as evidence for super-smart. Maybe the thread title should be changed to "Dolphins are dumb in the same ways as people and should be treated better."
