Just received official confirmation from RiverWalk Journal. They publish poetry and fiction as well (non-genre fiction) and they're apparently easy to please. They're also willing to work with inexperienced authors, so perhaps others here should try writing for them. Just look at their guidelines first.
quote:Dear Mr. Munsil:
We're pleased to inform you that the fourth part of your "Stone Musings" essay is slated for publication in the September/October issue.
As you know, editors enjoy writing like "Stone Musings #4" because it gives readers a real look into the writer's life. Reality television, even though it is typically stilted, is so popular because audiences like to see real people in real struggles. In addtion, this piece gives a look into the way the writer reacts with his family. It sounds trite, but the best writing isn't easy for the writer to create, or often times, even read once it is in print.
Please accept our sincere congratulations on such a well-written piece of work. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me or Editor-in-Chief Mark Hopkins (cnf_rwj@graffiti.net).
They (RWJ editorial staff) really do try and work with you. Last night I bounced the structure of the next piece off them for their input, and received a reply this morning. Now, it pretty much said "we agree" but they did respond, and they did turn it around pretty quickly.
